The primary purpose of the eIP project was to implement board mandated changes to the eBay Employee Incentive Program (eIP) for 2006. This project was conducted in five separate phases:

• Planning Phase. This phase focused on the creation of project procedures, creation of the implementation and test plans, user acceptance strategy, and the gathering of piX (people information exchange) and eIP award requirements.
• Development Phase. This phase consisted of creating the code, scripts, procedures, triggers, and processes supporting the piX-eIP environment.
• Test Phase. This phase consisted of setting up the test environment defining processes and business test scenarios to test the operational components.
• Implementation Phase. This phase consisted of user acceptance testing, creating the processing schedule, and establishing interfaces.
• Post-Implementation Phase. This phase consisted of evaluating the project team performance and capability, capturing lessons learned, and documenting the effort for future use.
