S.A.K. had a requirement to minimize personnel in their offices in the United States and Germany through the automation of order entry, receiving, shipping, and documentation functions for exporting automobile equipment and replacement parts from the United States to their sales and distribution office in Germany.

The DISCOUNT System used bar code technology to permit S.A.K. in the U.S. and Germany to enter orders, receive goods, prepare shipping and customs documentation, maintain inventory, and create invoices. Operating in a client/server environment in FoxPro, data was transferred internationally via modem and fax.
